I’ve been waiting to post this editorial for some time now. It’s been worth the wait.
I had to put releasing the images on hold until they were published by Jón magazine… a magazine high up on my list of favourite men’s fashion publications. This was an editorial shot exclusively for their Instagram.
One of my mates from the UK put me in contact with Michael Oates, who is a model from Manchester on stay in Cape Town for the season. We met at a coffee shop and chatted about putting a shoot together that made use of the beautiful, unique Cape Town landscape.
As I’ve written about in one of my previous posts, I’ve stripped my personal shoots down to just myself, my camera and the model. This is one of those shoots…
I had a rough idea of the locations we were after, now we just had to find them and shoot so Michael and I met up one afternoon and drove around the Atlantic seaboard coast on a mission.
Cape Town summers are mostly flawless, but sometimes the 38 degree heat gets difficult to handle. As such, a large portion of the shoot was spent sitting in the parked car waiting for the air-conditioner to cool us down between shots.
